These are two very powerful videos. In these times (in my opinion) very appropriate.

Prejudice and racism has a very ugly basis.
My Mom was a champion of the under privileged and minorities. I was blessed to have her be my biggest influence for my values.

MY mum used to say " no one can help where they are born and to whom." that says it all for me.

Dear Mark,
Thank you for sharing these emotionally moving videos. After these gifted musicians finished playing, where could they go for dinner that wasn't segregated?

Who reflects our history better than King and Coltrane?

Mark, thanks for sending this. Coincidentally there was a piece in the Paris Review, I think in July, about the power and relevance of Coltrane's masterpiece Alabama both in the 60's and now. Well worth your time. I circulated it and the Live at the Village Vanguard version of Alabama to the folks in my shop on Tuesday. Thanks again. Mike
