The previous definition of weed was incorrect. It's all location, location, location! A weed is any plant, flower, etc that is someplace it doesn't belong. An unintended rose in a bed of petunia's is a weed regardless of how elegant it is. A sunflower in a corn field is a weed unless someone planted it there. There are no weeds in an open prairie, they're all wildflowers, grasses, etc.
BTW, that lovely "weed" in your image is an evening primrose and since we don't know it's location, whether it's a weed remains to be seen. Did I mention very nice image.

The definition I gave was mine right or wrong I was kidding!!!

Guess I need a booster shot for my sense of humor. Another way of looking at it is that weeds are humble plants because they won't grow any place membership is required.

A weed is an undesired plant. If someone loves it then it is not a weed. Even the most beautiful of plants can be a weed if growing in the wrong place. And the most forlorn can be beautiful in the eye of the beholder, in this case the artistic photographer.
