Took a trip to the UP of Michigan and with some unscheduled time, we went to a waterfall in the area. I had not heard of Bond Falls State Park 24 hours ago and now, despite it being a rainy day, I am in love with this place. So beautiful. All shots were handheld. I love the IBIS on the Z6! :)

Very nice series!

Beautiful photos, beautiful place, Sue. Even though I live in Michigan, I've never been there. Needs to be on my list. Should be peek color up there in three weeks or so.

Lived in MI for 45 years, and visited the UP at least a dozen times, but I had never heard of Bond Falls State Park. Beautiful photos!!

I have to side with those who really dislike shots of waterfalls slowed way way down; I find it so unnatural. The smoothing with filters has been worn out, beaten to death so to speak. Not saying not to use ND filters, I do, but not for waterfall shots.

Great set! Stationed at Calumet AFS in the 1980s. Now is the time of year to make the drive to Copper Harbor. Thanx for sharing.

I have always lived in MI and I am astounded by the number of beautiful places I have not seen in the first fifty or so years of my life. Colors were notably changing in the week we were there so predictions on color are probably pretty good.

Yes, I had not heard of them either. I mentioned while there that if my BFF was still alive and knew we were that close, she would have directed us to them. There is also the famous "Paulding Light" (google it) and I think I remember her mentioning checking those out though.

I certainly understand that, I like both ways, so I shoot it that way. With the cloudy skies we had, I did not need the ND to slower speeds there, I think I successfully hand held down to 1/4.

We did not get up into Copper Harbor, were as close as Ontonagon. My guy spent some time in the 70s at the AFB by Gwynn.

The whole area is beautiful. The downside is that the area near Porcupine Mtns has very few choices these days of places to grab a meal, etc.
