I just recently heard of these falls myself. Already put them on my "To Shoot" list. Really happy to see that the seasons have started to change "up there". This summer has been horrible in so many ways. I hope that you live close enough to the park to return at the height of the colors. I'm thinking that the best way to snap me out of the "COVID Funk" I've been in is to see more of your beautiful images of this area.

I heard of these literally the night before, and the few photos I saw did not give me the true size of the falls. I was really surprised. If you want to see more of the photos I took here, and at other locations of the trip, do a quick search on SueFi_Photography. I have a public FB page and a Flickr account where I post them. We have visited some amazing places on this trip. I told my SO that I was enjoying all the "tree therapy" from the many forests we were seeing.

Wonderful photography. Thank for not using a time exposure for the water. Your exposure here shows the water as we see it.

Jim, well, I did stop down the shutter quite a bit on that first one, and a few I did not post, but all within the realm of what I could do and not have to go back to the car for the tripod. I do like all the looks from the way we see it, to the fast and slow shutter speeds on waterfalls. I remember though thinking to myself, 1/100th or so gives a nice balance for motion.

Excellent shots, IMHO I prefer natural water.

Very nice images. When I photograph water falls I use a 3 stops ND filter to make the water flow with the slow shutter speed. Then I take a shot without the filter.
Curious enough, my tendency is to keep the unfiltered image.

I had filters back in the car, and a tripod, but was too lazy to go get them, plus I was very happy with the results I was getting hand holding. I don't think I could have gotten the same with my D850. I am hoping this year brings the new Nikon Z7s and will be interested to see how much the IBIS in that allows me to shoot slower with the 45mp sensor.

I once dated a photographer who was the son of a professional artist and both of them just HATED, really HATED (cannot over emphasize that, LOL) the longer shutter speeds on waterfalls. We all have our preferences, thank goodness and I just shrugged my shoulders and told them not to look at the photos I took that way then. :)

Glad you enjoyed the shots, thanks for commenting with feedback.

Took a trip to the UP of Michigan and with some unscheduled time, we went to a waterfall in the area. I had not heard of Bond Falls State Park 24 hours ago and now, despite it being a rainy day, I am in love with this place. So beautiful. All shots were handheld. I love the IBIS on the Z6! :)

Lovely spot.....wow.

Excellent images. Now I have to go there.

If/when you go again, check out 'Henry's Inn' in Rockland (about 30-miles north). Historic building with great buffet food & bar, although they may have scaled back during this pandemic.

We were not far from there as we stayed in Silver City. Our one evening meal we had at Konteka, 5 miles south of there.
