After several days of yard work, etc. I decided to take a walk after some rain cleared out. Baily Lake Park is about a mile from our house and the prairie dogs are about another 1/2 mile.Temperature was nice so I headed out with my D7100 w/Tamron 18-400 lens along with three other lenses in a messenger bag. Here are the best of what I got, it was still overcast giving poor light conditions and about half way through the shooting I found I had forgotten to tun vr back on after my last session. This is a mixture of flowers, a prairie dog, and a great blue heron.

The prairie dogs usually dive when I am within 150 feet, but this one was too bust eating to be bothered. Perhaps there has been enough increaed traffic on the path they won't be so skittish.

Very nice set, Bill! You have to cut down on the yard work stuff.

Thank you.
I would like to cut back, but it's payback for neglect when it was so hot.

While scrolling through I noticed I missed this one. It's a duck of very uncertain ancestory that was about three feet below me on the side of the pond. I usually call them Mucks for Mixed Up duCKS.

A great series!!!
Now explain what's wrong with the light,
Overcast days are my favorite for photographing flowers and wildlife , well almost everything, no blown out highlights and no harsh shadows, I can always make adjustments to liven up an image.

Thank you. This one has a pleasing color/pattern, often the mixtures are just blotches.
