The following example is exactly that, an image that was thoroughly underwhelming in color but that leaps off the page for me in B/W. It was shot with an ef-s 10-18mm lens, so there is some distortion, but I feel the image loses some of its 'flow' when the verticals are corrected in PP.

I've noticed that many times my images upload darker and less sharp to UHH than they appear when I prepare them.
