p.4 Studio - so good to see you. There's something to love in each image, but IMHO, #1 is a terrific "industrial" photo - I like the composition, the subject, the bands of "shine" that define each "pipe".

Hi Pat. I hope you're doing well. Yes, it has been a while. I'm glad you like it. I do like doing industrial images, though somewhat abstract when I do.

Nice start Karen. Your focus seems a little soft on the kitty, but may just have been cropped a little too close. Composition is nice, cats are usually great for that. Thanks for hosting another challenge.

I got one I cropped and played with before tossing the original.

It's labor day here in the US today. Been a perfect weekend. A couple more from a short hike this week.

Page 6 Pat, I love the texture of your bark shot. Even though this is a B&W challenge I bet the stream photo looks terrific in color.

Thanks! The boy is my grandson taken during a visit to the NY Met last spring.

I, too, take the time to convert a few images, usually when I feel disappointed in the outcome of the colored version. The following example is exactly that, an image that was thoroughly underwhelming in color but that leaps off the page for me in B/W. It was shot with an ef-s 10-18mm lens, so there is some distortion, but I feel the image loses some of its 'flow' when the verticals are corrected in PP.

Yesterday afternoon. Quite a place. A goat farm where they sell their products, cheeses etc, picnic tables, byob, pretty cool
