One of the funniest sites I ever saw was in Yellowstone. A big bull elk was sitting with his harem on the grounds of the little church in Mammoth Hot Springs. Some guy pulled up in a little car, stopped, got out with a camera, and proceeded to walk right up to the bull elk and started taking his photo. The bull elk hopped up, lowered his rack of antlers towards this guy, and slowly walked towards him. He slowly walked the guy right back to his car. The look on that guy's face was priceless!

Looks like the forest service needs to send that bull in for sensitivity training

I agree 100%. That moron should be suspended from all parks. No sympathy at all.

This is actual fact : Have hunted in Alaska 5 times and all guides know this . When a woman is having her period bears can detect it and will attack her every time . Some other animals react the same way . So be careful .

OK, I have 2 quick stories. Last year by the El Tovar Lodge at the Grand Canyon there was a pretty good size female elk just hanging around. People were continually inching closer and closer to snap a picture despite the constant warnings from a young female ranger telling people to “back away”. Seeing the frustration on her face I asked if this happens often she sighed and said, “EVERY day, ALL day! People just don’t get how dangerous this is”. Just stay back, especially if there are any little ones nearby. The cows viciously defend their young.

The other is from Yellowstone. Sometimes you cannot avoid them as they come to you. Often times they travel in herds along the roadway. They walk right next to your vehicle and mind their own business...if you mind yours!. I was tempted to pet one as it passed my window then my inner voice said, “No stupid don’t do it! It’s not worth the risk and probably stink anyway”

If you plan on taking photos of animals stick to a telephoto lens!

That is a very nice monument to her stupidity. It makes sense after seeing the video, humorous sense that is.

Then we have the recent cellphone videos of a bear that had broken into a supermarket. Ransacking a display. At least 2 people with their cellphones within 20’ of the bear, which was otherwise occupied.
