I love it, particularly the interesting color and almost abstract nature of the leaves against the dark ripples.

Thank you very much.

Wow Robert that's a winner. Real moonlight or not, it is stunning. Actually, I had a hard time imagining you prowling in the swamp after dark. Although if that's what it would have taken it would be worth it too.

Well, maybe not real moonlight but if Hollywood can slap on a blue filter and pass it off as shooting at night or moon light = So Can I!
And it was in shade, close enough with a bit of editing.

Water makes great reflections of wading and swimming birds. And I go for them every chance I get.

Great job! Very effective use of light and reflections. Thanx for sharing.

Thanks very much.

No swamp, a park (Riverwalk Parkway - Riverside, CA) and taken in the afternoon when that spot is in shade. Spot meter on the bird = ISO-100 so the rest was under exposed. Then processed to try to make it look like bright moonlight.

Here is a shot of the place about 4 months earlier before the plants had recovered from the park guys giving them a haircut. The circle is where the plants and bird were 4 months later. Then an alternate edit.
