My Canon printer, installed on my old PC was giving me "fits" for about a year. I tried multiple "fixes" and eventually got it to partially work, but was not able to print in color and B & W was painfully slow. I completed transferring files and installing software on my new PC this week. I did not reinstall the printer. On Tuesday, I found a link for printing the USPS form for mail-in voting. On a lark, I attempted printing the color form. Wow!! It printed perfectly and quickly. I guess the software was corrupted on the old PC? I'm delighted, because I was ready to buy a new printer. Magic???

Very happy,
Mark

Yes, both magic and smoke.

(Let all of the smoke out of a component and it doesn't work anymore.)

Glad it's working correctly!
(Now if I could just get my wife's new Win10 laptop to talk to the Win7 desktop and laptop.....)

Was the printer a lot newer than your old PC - they might have been "barely-sorta" compatible and the new one is totally compatible.

It was, but it was working well. That is a possibility. Thanks!

Mark , that must have really pleased you and is a salutary lesson for all of us. Will be reinstalling the epson drivers on my Mac today and then see if my printer responds to me.

Sure was! I don't print often, but occasionally I need a printer that works. I was ready to purchase a new one.
Good luck with the reinstall.

I've found that new Windows overcomes lots of corruption problems. You may find lots of things that work better now. Cool beans.

Magic makes all things well. It doesn’t get enough credit.

Although you may think the new driver helped, based on my experience with computers, I'd say you were right about the magic.
