I can’t find if you said is the drive a hard drive and what size? Hard drives tend to run warm with constant use anyway.

Question: Am I correct in assuming that "SATA 0" on the MoBo must be used for the C drive? "SATA 1" would be for D, etc? The cable from SATA 0 is too short to reach to the SSD, so I had to use a 90° cable that sticks out too far to slide the side panel back on.
.

SATA 0 is not reserved for the C drive. The C drive may be plugged into any SATA socket. The same for the other drives. Drive letters may be assigned or changed by using Disk Management. The BIOS will find the drive with the OS on it. Also, boot order is controlled in the BIOS so one can boot from a Flash Drive or CD/DVD.
I also would not worry about 110 degrees under continuous use. I would think DELL would have studied the air flow in the case and it shouldn't need more fans unless you have added heat producing components.

You can assign any drive letter to a drive from any port.
Digital naming convention is that '0' is a number.
As a result, you will find things listed 0-9 rather than 1-10.

As a side question. I'm originally from Tampa. Where are you on the panhandle?

I'm in the Pensacola area. I used to frequent Tampa quite a bit in the 90's when one of my friends was going to USF. It was a short drive down from Jacksonville where I grew up.

I spent part of my youth in Jacksonville. Lived in the Edgewood area and attended Fishweir Elementary School. It was a nice city to grow up in.

Is it possible to mount a fan externally? Drill holes and use self tapping sheet metal screws to mount. Drill a hole, get a gromet for the power wire.

When I get back to it, I'm going to see if a 120mm fan will fit in back. I'll wait till I get the Sata cable from B&H so I can put the side back on. With proper air flow, the temp will probably be different.

If it runs hot why not just leave the side panels off.

The C drive is an SSD - no heating. It's the D drive that tend to get hot.

That's an option. My son is leaving for work now, so I'll get ready to install the new right angle cable when FedEx delivers it later. I'll also see if I can fit a larger fan in there.
