This is Simone. She is a 5 year old rescued puppy mill mama that has been with us almost a year. Simone has adjusted well and is a great companion. Anyone considering getting a dog should give a rescue consideration.

That is wonderful! I have had rescues before and they were great. The one I have now is from the local animal shelter. These are the best ways to get a pet who will love you dearly. God Bless!
We just got a 6 year old dog and she is very sweet but it's been difficult to change old bad habits. So far not much luck after 4 months.
Pugs are sweet dogs. We've had three, with just one left. Unfortunately, they were bred with built-in health concerns.
I used to drive for a pug rescue group. I'd drive a hundred miles or so to pick up a pug and then meet someone who was driving it on the second leg of its journey. We once went to a rescue center to get a pug they listed. As we pulled into the parking lot, we saw a couple leaving with a pug. They beat us to it by just a few minutes.
Great looking dog and I admire people that support the rescue process. Looks like Simone found a great home!

I have rescued many dogs throughout my life some successful some not (no rescue agency involved)
The next to the last was adopted from a local shelter, I was looking for a mature Dobie, This little mongrel chose me, Sweetie Pie, was cute and loveable she thought she was as big as any Dobie I ever had and she hated Tree Rats!! and was a great companion to my wife. Now the down side: when ever she got mad at Ruthie she would urinate on her side of the bed. this went on for six months tried everything to break her but just didn't work out, now we were out $200 and I took her back to the shelter.
My last rescue was Buttons, a BIG 12# 4 month old Yorkie, the people said they just couldn't do anything with him, it didn't take long to figure out why, He was smarter than the whole family
We had him house broke in less than two weeks the only thing I couldn't teach him was to walk without a leash. He was Ruthies Companion and my buddy, he kept Ruthie going through out her battle with cancer, sadly with in two weeks of Ruthies passing Buttons was diagnosed with cancer. They are together now.
I still haven't been able to bring myself to get another Dog. May someday.
Good looker.....I’ve had two pugs in my life, and my grandson now has one.

I feel for you. Hang in there! If you haven't done so already, consider enlisting the help of a professional trainer; more often than not, it's worth it.
Bless you for adopting an older friend.

She looks very well-adjusted and poses perfectly for your shot. Congratulations on the take & the dog.
