Very nice images...
Meh...I think your framing is just fine. It's supposed to be art after all.
The beach scene is refreshing, and shows what she is leaving.
It's got that old Kodak "Blue" going on... wonderful.

Nice camera, but way out of my price range and not sure I'd be happy with a fixed wide angle lens as my only option. If it weren't for the fixed wide angle lens, I'd probably buy the Pentax G3 for a lot less money.

A great choice -- good for you. Hope you get years of enjoyment and good photos out of it!

good, if expensive, choice! now to endure the processing times as the computer works with 45mb files. The computer upgrade for me was nearly as expensive as the camera but - boy does it work fast.

Thank you all who helped me make the right decision. Back in June I looked for advise on purchasing a camera that would lighten my load. I still love my Nikon D750 and all the gear associated with it, but I found that for a grab and run situation I was missing a great deal of opportunity. I narrowed down the suggestions to two rented each for a week and made my decision. Once I had worked with each camera the choice became clear to me, not that they both weren't great. My choice .......Leica Q2 and I haven't looked back. I am loading one or two photos. This my not be the choice for all, but I am quite happy. It has gotten me out and enjoying my love of street (or beach) photography. CC is always welcomed and encouraged. Thanks again
Thank you all who helped me make the right decisio... (show quote)

I think you make us all happy that we were able to help you with your choice. Whether it would have been a good choice for me or anyone else is immaterial. It needed to be a good choice for you - and it appears that it was a good choice. I also like your photos. Hopefully we will see some more of them.

Know about the rules, photography 101. Tell me or show me how to improve it, sincerely, looking to grow. In the b&w the space between the boy and the photos hanging bothers me. Should I have removed some of the blank space or given it more texture?

Removing some of the blank space would help imho,
however amputating the boys foot and leg disturbs me more
than the blank space.

It seems you wanted to include the pictures on the wall...
so if you could have moved back you could have
included all of the "hero" (the young man on the couch)
in the frame and still include the pictures on the wall... if you really had to have them.

Personally, I would have a strip of the floor, below the boy and a strip
of the wall in the frame above; nothing more nothing less... ie lowered the camera and/or panned down
and not have amputated any part of the boy... his pose is wonderful and
looks like a great subject. As nice as the photos on the wall are, they are a distraction... imho

You weak Americans both amuse and disgust me. OOOOOH, I'm too weak to carry a [put camera of choice here - Nikon, Canon - whatever], got to find me a superlight that takes amazing pictures.

I have a better idea - take up knitting and post on a knitting NG so we won't have too see your drivel.

You do not have to be supportive or participate in the discussion; but you do not have to be cruel.

Thank you for your reply to inappropriate and rude comment. Apparently this gentleman is both anti-American and misogynistic, in a world that is filled with so much hate. He does not understand the meaning of a community of people working together with a common interest. Again thank you.

Well it is my prayer that when you pass, along time from now, someone inherits a worn-out Q!

It looks fun!

Anti American? I fought against America's enemies in Korea, risked my life so the likes of you could breathe free. And misogynistic? As an OSU faculty member, during my tenure as a Category Three Advisor, every woman PhD candidate in my dept. chose me as their faculty advisor over three women category threes. And yet because I tell a foolish American woman that she is foolish, I am both un-American and misogynistic. LOL at fools of every nationality and sex.

My only question is why you would think only bigger, heavier, and more costly would always be the solution to someone's problem. Sometimes using one's intelligence to match the solution to the problem is the best way to go.

Because he's an ignorant that doesn't realize that when many people get to certain age, depending on their genetic makeup, muscle mass start to diminish. No more flexible muscles with great strength. Walking, bending, flexing is not longer the same. That great strength you had when you were in your late teens to late 30's is gone. Yes, there are older people that for their age, they have great strength still, but those are the lucky ones and/or are people that took care of themselves all their life, physically, plus good genes.

Nonetheless, a comment like his just shows his narrow mindedness and his lack of manners. I wonder how insufferable he must be around those that have to live with him.

I learned long ago (in college) never to suffer fools gladly. Sorry if that offends you! (lol not really) And since I'll soon be 90, I too have suffered from diminished muscle mass. But having noticed that condition in older friends and relatives for decades, I expected it and I am not one to complain about the inevitable.

And what insight from our friend Robert - the elderly are not teenagers. The mind boggles at his intelligence!
ROFLMFAO Sorry Robert but I just cannot suffer fools gladly! :-)
