I spent a few hours in the yard waiting and watching with minimal results. The birds I saw were mostly molting and were rather in poor condition for photographs. I did watch the brown anole lizards which are abundant. Brown anoles are relatively new to our area (a few years), but their population has exploded, and I feel like they have displaced our green anoles. I wonder if others have had a similar experience with anoles.

This is a nice set. As for molting birds, they are quite unique and may occasionally pluck out some feathers. This makes for even excellent photos. Annie looks like a darling dog who gives good face licks, too.

Happy Shooting!

Anole can change color. It is probably the same ones you always see. Check Wikipedia. Nice series and really like the B & W of Annie

You are absolutely right about licking the face.

Yes I realize green anoles can change color. This is the two major colors of green anoles. The second photo has not been edited.
