I've observed this forum for about a month and am very impressed by the professionalism and intelligent questions and answers. Since I will have more questions than answers I thought I would join and get some advice. Tho I have been taking pics for almost half a century, over much of the world, most have been of the "postcard" variety to document where I was or what I was doing. I have over 15000 slides and recently went thru and labeled them all and made a note of the ones I thought were outstanding,----other than the postcards. When I finished I had only four slides that fell into that category so I am looking forward to what I can learn from this forum. I am attaching a recent photo to check my monitor settings becuz I noticed some fall color pix in the gallery seemed a little over exposed and I want to see if my pic looks that way also. If so I will know to adjust my monitor for future posts.
Thanks

Welcome to the site. I think you will love it here. Very nice folks and down to earth. Lots of info, all you have to do is ask and folks will chime in with some good stuff. I will even give you answers even if they are wrong.:) The colors look pretty good to me. And exsposer too.
I have you beat on old slides tho. I started taking pictures back in the late 60's. I have been scanning them to the computer for the last 2 years and still not half way.:( I figer I have taken well over 50,000 slides. But I am not scanning all of them:)
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Welcome to UHH! You already know there are lots of good folk here and they are willing to help you when ever they can. I am still learning too, so not likely I will be much help to you, I will certainly try where I can. I really like your pix, exposure looks great to me. I have noticed when you have a wide range of exposure in one photo, it becomes harder to get a good balance. I think you did get it exactly right.

Hi fantom, A really big welcome to the hog. We do enjoy talking to each other and showing each other our work, as you will also. There was a time i had between 50 to 75,000 slides and negatives in my files. I made the mistake of having the files out in the darkroom which was in the garage, a great place to work, but, the Northridge Earthquake destroyed everything i had. I do have about 500 negs and slides left but also because of my digital camera i now have over 12000 images in my iPhoto. (everything is triple backed up, LOL) Ask all the questions you want, someone here will have the knowledge to answer you. And, maybe a few will .
P.S. very nice fall shot. i love fall colors.
Great shot . Not everyone sees whats in front of them and often great shots are passed by ...you did and I enjoyed seeing it. Colors are awesome.
Welcome, Fantom. Lovely shot there.
