AD 1963 - Baddies stole £2,600,000 million from the Glasgow to London Royal Mail Train in the Great Train Robbery.
AD 1844 - Brigham Young was chosen to lead the Church of Latter Day Saints, Mormons, following the murder of founder Joseph Smith.
AD 1609 - Galileo Galilei had his new fangled telescope thingie inspected by the Venetian senate.

The Great Train Robbery. Just about remember it (I was 6 at the time). There was a lot of sympathy for the driver they coshed who never recovered his full mental capacity. Had it been left to the public I think they would have exacted some medieval form of capital retribution.
For a time Brigham Young lived less than a mile from where I live now in the UK. The thatched cottage on the outskirts of the village of Maxstoke in Warwickshire is named Sky Cottage.
Brigham Young held services in a still standing farmers barn. He was eventually chased out of the area by staunch Church of England members.
When we get occasional visits from Mormons, the vast majority have no idea about Brigham Young’s connection with our village all those years ago.

Actually the mormons claim he did foresee it since he at one time said he will go “like a lamb to the slaughter”. Secondly, he was not murdered as the mormons claim. He was in jail, had a gun smuggled in by his visitors and he shot a guard after which he was shot and killed

£2,600,000 million? Wouldn't that be like the whole GNP for England?

I think you meant to use the word “Evangelistic” instead of “Evangelical”.
He knew he was going to a his death.
You need to read the account of those who lived through it. The guards let the mob up the stairs where he was.
