Why was the police body cam footage showing what really happened with George Floyd not made available to everyone immediately? Now that it has been leaked why is it not “trending” on YouTube? Why aren’t MSM (including Fox) all over this? The riots could have been avoided!

With all due respect, do radio waves travel that slowly to your location? Are you just getting this news? CNN and the other news networks showed nothing else for weeks in June. The video has been shown literally hundreds of times on National TV. I’d wager that every city in the US has had demonstrations lasting for weeks (still going on in some) and a fair number of cities (including mine) have seen vandalism and destruction. Believe me, it has caused and received plenty of attention, pain and destruction in the US, not to mention the rise in Covid 19 cases due to the mass assemblies/protests.

Duh. There are leaked videos that only became available this past Tuesday. I figured most of you may not have seen them. These videos show Floyd resisting getting in the patrol car, complaining at least a dozen times that he couldn’t breath, being out of control when they finally got him in the car and him asking them to put him on the ground. Did you bother to look them up? The problem is that these particular videos have NOT received National TV attention.

If I sound a little testy, it’s because we’ve heard nothing else for almost two months. Our downtown is destroyed - every single window broken out, stores looted, fires set in black and white owned businesses alike, some of them owned by friends that will never reopen - jobs lost for black and white employees. Monuments at our capital destroyed, tear gas in the streets. We are all appalled at Mr. Floyd’s death, and we’ve discussed, debated, and anguished about nothing else since June except the virus, and you imply that we aren’t paying attention? This is your view from Canada? Come to Raleigh, NC, I’ll give you a tour, you can join the crowds protesting at the governor’s mansion as I write this. This is now an old painful wound, how about not peeling the scab off again?

I can tell by your comments that you have not seen the videos I am referring to. They change everything you thought you knew. They show zero racism. The police were very accommodating to Floyd but he was obviously suffering from the drugs he had taken. He complained about not being able to breath and being claustrophobic a dozen or more times before asking the police to put him on the ground. Long before the knee.

It’s not “new” footage. It is “old” footage that has been kept under wraps. Only released because it was leaked.
