Very happy---had a car crash--told the car repair had USAA and they were overjoyed . Only original parts and want to fix it right. Only approve the best repair shops. Being in Florida knowing if the hurricane hits they will be there. In the Panhandle only the USAA houses were done and the rest were still fighting for their money. You should get USAA home ins. They are the best.

I've been with AFIE since 1969 and never had a complaint. Five military movements and what AF didn't pay, AFIE did.

I can agree with most of what has been shared about USAA and their Customer Service. However a word of warning. I insured my cameras with a Personal Property policy. I was told at sign-up that it covered replacement cost - no deprecated value. Also, I was told it covered breakage due to accident, and loss due to being stolen. I paid for insurance for 7 years - no claims. This year I called toad a new lens and during the conversation I mentioned my photography business. I was immediately canceled - the policy did not cover business use equipment. So, don't try to insure if you have a business an read the policy - it is depreciated value, and only for limited causes for loss.

I would think with a business you would have business insurance that covered not only equipment but liability insurance. To work in office buildings I often had to show I had liability insurance.

You better look at the BBB ratings of AFIE! Don't even make 2 stars out of 5 . Phrases like "stealing money from veterans for years" etc. BEWARE--Better get to USAA before it becomes a nightmare if you have a claim.

I have all of my insurance with USAA at this time. I want to insure all of my cameral equipment. Does anyone have esperience with USAA doing this and would you recommend them? What should I look for when getting this insurance?

I have had all my insurance with USAA for 35 years and every few years I get a rate comparison. No one beats USAA for identical coverage.
Why? No sales people, only one central Texas location, and no advertising (until recently). Service has been great.

$40,000 camera gear covered for any/all losses at REPLACEMENT value without any DEDUCTABLE (I think, not 100% sure) at $332/year premium as VALUABLE PERSONAL PROPERTY FLOATER.

Good luck,

I've been with USAA for 55 years, since I was an Ensign. We've not needed them often, but when we did, they came through with flying colors. USAA is currently in the process of replacing our roof and so far, there have been no surprises.
Last year we were struck from behind on the freeway and the other driver fled the scene when we told him the police were on their way. My wife got just enough information to track down his phone number in New York, through Facebook (we're in Florida). Initially, Geico claimed that he didn't have a policy with them, then USAA went to work. In the end, Geico paid the complete repair bill. USAA also gave us a warranty for that repair, for the rest of the time we own the car - even if the repair shop goes out of business.

I've had my insurance & Banking with them since getting my commissioning in 1979. Never had a problem. Have Auto, House, & Personal Property (Cameras and Jewlery) insurance. Would have had them sooner (1963), but they only insured Officers back then.

Yes , as an officer the rates were really low. Once they let the enlisted men in the rates went up. I'm glad they expanded it because we all served our country and rank shouldn't
enter into the equation.

I am also with USAA. Ask for “Valuable Personal Property” coverage. I think you will find it very reasonable. I only had one claim and it was handled very quickly.

I have usaa, did exactly what you are proposing on line. It was easy to do. Cost was minimal. USAA is almost always rated as the highest ins company as far as satisfaction and service. You pay for it, but so far, so good.
