I absolutely refuse to put this great camera for still photography, on the shelf in the attic. I have shot quite a few weddings and receptions using this and the results are startling! I guess that what's old is actually new.

A newer body can give better high ISO results, but since Canon has put image stabilization in EF-mount lenses, much of what people are looking for is available with that body. If you are satisfied with the results, nothing else should matter.

My son still uses the T2i I bought for him long ago. I haven't used it (I am now a Nikon person) but I have played around with it and I love the feel in my small hands much better than my D7200.

Photographers with T2i's are like fine musicians. Their instruments continue to provide fine music as long as they are played once in while. My T2i still provides concert quality music and quality photography!

If you do planetary imaging or think you may want to in the future, keep this camera. There are only three cameras, all canon - 60D, 60Da and 550D (t2i), that have 640x480 movie crop mode giving 1:1 pixel resolution.

Very briefly, for high-resolution planetary photography, the best method to record videos for "Lucky Imaging" is to have access to the full resolution of the camera at 1:1 pixel resolution.

"Lucky Imaging" uses videos where lots of frames are shot in the hopes of getting lucky and getting some with good atmospheric seeing where the image is sharp. It uses special software to sort through all of the frames and pick out only the best ones and stack them.
