Exactly, they are crazy, they don't believe you have the guts to shoot, they are "brave through chemistry", they are suicidal to begin with, or they just plain don't believe anything can happen to "Me".

I have found one commonality among criminals. Almost all seem to think they are better than the rest of us. They have an attitude that if you have something and they want it then it is up to you to give it to them. If you resist and tell them, NO, then they actually feel perfectly fine about taking your life to take what they want. I have been told numerous times by mostly male convicts but some females, It is his fault I killed him. I told him to give it to me and he refused. He forced me to shoot, stab, set on fire, whatever to get the item.

Of course I know others will disagree with my assessment of convicts but then I can't help but wonder exactly how many of those who will disagree have actually spent 20 years working in close proximity with the most violent offenders in the system, male and female.

I spent 35 years teaching Jr & Sr High School, mostly in East Los Angeles. You dealt mostly with types like our failures. And there was a good chance the badge next to you was someone like one of our successes. A high % of students in ELA went into law enforcement or the military. And for a total of 17 years I was either Alarm Response Security and/or worked in my friend's Gun/Police Gear Store weekends and summers where I worked beside a lot of LEO's of various types - from a Postal Inspector to LAPD Metro Squad, LASO SWAT Sgt, US Marshal, CHP etc. When things were slow we exchanged "war stories" and once or twice found we shared a "client". I had a SWAT member tell me he wouldn't trade jobs on a bet - I didn't have a gun when teaching. Another time an obvious gang banger came in the gun store and saw the papers I was grading on a counter and asked where I taught. I told him and his answer was "Dang you must be brave! My Dad went there and he says that place was dangerous." He then added "No wonder you carry a gun that big." (I had a wide frame, double stack .45 on my belt.)

Exactly right. Anybody with a lick of common sense will realize there is nothing wrong with gun ownership. That is also the reason why the Left is so dead set against us owning and becoming proficient with firearms.

I forget which senator, maybe Boxer or Feinstein, said military men and women should not have access to firearms because with their wartime history of violence they cannot be trusted to own firearms, OR words to that affect. Just more Liberal bullshit to keep firearms from citizens. Of course they don't give a damn that those actions go directly against the U.S. Constitution.

Liberals throughout history have made firearms owners the bad guys right before taking over countries and enslaving the citizens.

I am thinking Para Ordnance for your carry gun but it could be another choice. Great choice by the way.

I agree completely with your entire post. I come from a great area in upstate NY but it seems that half of my graduating class of 100 students either went into LEO/military or prison. Of course not exact numbers but quite a few.

I have found gang bangers, when not in a group of other gang bangers could be great conversationalists and nice people. Obviously not all but a number I spoke to. But it was the gang mentality of a MOB that kept many of them doing things against the law. Many inmates who were getting out of prison either from killing their number or paroling were, "talked into", returning to prison by friends/family in prison. I have personally seen/heard other inmates telling those getting out, that there was nothing out there for them, their, "family", was behind bars, so the best thing to do was to reviolate a law or violate parole so as to come back in. One male convict, a two time loser already was paroling to a choice family business. His family ran a chain of dry cleaning businesses in Denver and he would be given his own store to manage. The sky was the limit for him to stay out and become a prosperous business man. He was still in his late 20's when he paroled. Just before I accepted a promotion to the Women's facility he was back in Administrative Segregation for his third offense and most likely for the rest of his life.

Such is the lure of gang violence for our youth of today. As a teacher you got to see it building first hand every day. As a LEO and CO I got to see the next chapter and neither one of us got to see many happy results. A shame.

Both parents were teachers, my mother a teacher and principal for years; my father taught classes in a maximum security prison in NYS until he crushed his hand in a printing press accident and was forced to retire. I thank you for your years of service.

Years ago someone in one of the eastern states (New Jersey, Maryland?) was asked why he was against veterans owning guns "They know how to use them!".
I wonder why? Perhaps he was worried about a bunch of them deciding that the state needed a new government altogether or similar.

I think that is most likely true. The Democrats would love to have citizens depend only upon the military and the police for protection with all firearms having been taken away from private ownership.

A good friend and I were discussing in emails how we got to such a place as we are now when Liberals stand up for violent demonstrators, comment AGAINST our police officers and so on.

He stated:

"we are losing more rights now as free speech is defined by the left as anything the promotes socialist thought (think George Orwell Novel, 1984, I call it "Freespeak" you can freely speak what you are told or what the thought police think that you can say.) We self censor too much. Comedians cannot comedy. There is no sense of humor anymore. Our creativity is stifled. Thoughts are controlled & progress is slowed. No one is having any simple fun. We take ourselves too seriously. There is no content in our lives, just process. No thinking as constructive thinking is gone and ideas are nowhere to be found. Truth is propaganda.

Facts are long gone. Too petty, they get in the way of the narrative which is the "truth"."

How did we get to such a place to accept stupid a normal, failure as acceptable and lies for truth?
