I'm telling you, no one follows any rules out in the forest. I set my new trail cam up to get mountain lions on this rock, and instead I got all these bears--a mother and her baby and then a big fat one. I guess I'll have to make do...These are snapshots grabbed from videos, some of them tweaked. All the bears walked so close to the edge that my heart stopped, but I guess they know what they're doing. It is a LONG way down.
Mom & Cub are cute
Good shooting !!

I was pretty thrilled. I really wasn't that annoyed with them for not being lions. AND I was glad that they didn't mess with the camera, which bears are notorious for doing.

Well I wasn't actually there when the videos were taken, but thank you! At least I picked a scenic spot.
Good stuff and they are better than neighborhood dogs.

You're right about that. Nothing against dogs of course and at least I got to know their names. Who knows, maybe that mother and cub are also named Ruby and Benny! I moved the camera to the oak tree at the left, looking out over the rock, so I anticipate more good stuff. I also anticipate some meddling with the camera.
Thanks for your interesting presentation

Only if they are black bears.
I’d say that was a successful catch. There’s always tomorrow for the lions!
