My BIL was on the USS Forrestal. He’s 79 now so someone can calculate the period he might have been aboard.

My late uncle, Preston Carrington, was an officer on the Forrestal prior to the 67 fire.

53 years ago I was in the summer between my Freshman and Sophomore years in high school. I'm a touch younger than the rest of you.

I was onboard Forrestal from May 1967 to August 1969. I am 72. So that would put him on Forrestal in the early 1960s.

Just checked with him he was onboard in 1960-1962.

I had met a member of Her crew at the Base pub, he offered to take me aboard and I accepted. He also brought me up to the hangers for a visit and so I got to see the new F11F. I was very impressed. The Bonaventure at that time was flying Banshee F2H3s and Tracker CS2Fs. I will forever be grateful to that fellow sailor for that. Phil
