I'm not the one to say what is good or bad as I can only see through my eyes. So from these eyes I would choose the third photo as my favorite.

Regarding the 'Paso Robles Chapel' was wondering how you found it? Did you go up to the chapel and look around?

I actually went to a wedding there about 15 years ago. It's about 15 miles due east of Paso Robles. You make a left turn off the two lane road to access the chapel. However, when I was last there to take this picture 10 years ago, there was no sign to tell you to make the turn. I believe the chapel was funded by the Hurst family 30+ years ago and is available to be rented out for events. I don't believe it is a functioning church. The path leading to the top is a grape arbor and the surrounding hillside is now a vineyard. The way to reach the chapel is by the road that takes you up to the top of the hill around the back. The place is totally unique and totally well hidden.

Thank you for bringing this up. I want to explore HDR and have learned things from this post. In my opinion your images are not overdone, they're enhanced. The Venice window is my favorite. So richly textured, with a bright pop of color, simply stunning!!!

When I saw that yellow curtain, I thought whoever lived there put it there intentionally to attract photographers. The contrast with the shutters and wall was so stark that the composition just made itself. Thanks for commenting.

I never thought about one shot being better than another. I was just trying to capture an interesting scene that might have an interesting story behind it. Regardless, I'm glad you like my work.

A couple of years ago (for the anniversary of my 70th b’day) I finally convinced my wife to stop there, after a decade or more of passing the site on our way to visit Our son at Cal Poly and UCSB. I climbed the 300 feet or more vertical front entrance path (taking pictures all the way) and took some photos of the outside of the chapel & then going around back was surprisingly to find a Paved parking lot. I posted some of the photos on this site! It is a beautiful secluded site! The creek at the bottom of the hill has an old abandoned ranch house site also.

I never saw the creek or the old ranch house. On my last visit, the place was locked up and I couldn't get up the back road. That is quite a climb.

So what do you guys mean by HDR? I thought HDR refers to combining a few bracketed shots to make up for lack of dynamic range. To allow one to see detail in shadows as well as in areas of a shot that would otherwise be blown out.
