Here are some shots of Santorini, another Greek island, it is also known as Thira. The town is perched on the rim of an extinct volcano which when it erupted caused the town to sink into into the volcano and eventually covered by the waters of the Aegean sea. And this is known called"Atlantis" Just Google Santorini and some aerial images show the ring of the volcano.

I was wondering if this was the place where the burros take old guys like me up the hill to town. Then I saw your great shot of the burros. They are all very good shots. Makes me want to travel more.
Beautiful and interesting photos.
Wonderful photos, johneccles! Looked like scenes from the movie "Mama Mia". The Greek people like color, don't they?
Thanks for sharing,we are looking to stop off at Santorini on our next holiday so your pics have made us even more excited about going there!

Liked all the shots but really liked #3 & #4 because it really takes you inside and gives a feel of what it is like to be there, walking those narrow, winding streets and corridors.
Thanks for your comments, I was on a Greek Island Cruise this year and Santorini (Thira) was a port of call. Its quite difficult to take some shots as my wide angle was only 28mm and stepping back is not an option, due to steep drops behind. I attach another photo which I did not take, I could see it but just couldn't get to it. You may recognise it as a Windows wall paper.
Cheers, John
