Myths are wonderful tools, suggesting talent and effort can overcome the lack of superior cameras.

The D80 had a faulty phase switch that failed on all of them. most of the first series D series had faulty aperture control units. The D7000 and the D750 series have faulty shutters that fly apart. On the D7000 this also took out the low pass filter on the image sensor. The list goes on and on and goes back quite a few years. That's why I'm a Canon shooter and repair Nikons for a living.

Interesting. I have a D7000 that I've used for years in all kinds of inclement conditions and it has never failed to produce excellent results. I also have a D80 and a D610. No issues with any of them. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe the issues reported were from people who don't treat their equipment with the respect it deserves.

Btw, I still have my 35mm Canon gear from the 70s. Love it but switched to Nikon for digital.

That's about the silliest conspiracy theory I've heard in years. Where do you get your news? Facebook or You Tube? It certainly did not come from any reputable source. You must think the Nikon engineers are complete fools and that their quality control people are blind. And then you completely overlook the civil and criminal liabilities Sony would be subject to if they ever tried this silly idea.
