In real life, the snipe hides very well. Around a tank or waterhole they hide in and under all kinds of things and you don’t have any idea they are there until they explode up beside you or underfoot. Most shorebirds leave as soon as they see you. The snipe just hides and if you don't get close enough you will never know they are there. Yes, when I was a kid, I was taken out on a snipe hunt and told to hold the bag and call “snipe, snipe, snipe”. Lots of laughs were had by all, except me!
Yes there is a lot of snipe hunting in Tennessee but I don’t know of a single one that has run into a paper bag yet!!!

On the 2nd shot, is that the same bird ? The face seems familiar.
