How do I find something like Neowise in my view finder? I was never able to capture the comet although I could see it.

I find a bright star and focus on that first with whatever focal length you want to capture the comet with. I start with around 70mm and exposures 4-8 sec, 1600-3200 ISO depending how bright the sky is. After you locate it you can zoom to 100-400 to suit your taste. Remember to keep the focus adjusted.
This is my procedure, others may have a better way.
