No.1, by a Country mile. I find the background in no.2 a major distraction but like the way no.1 has shadowed it - even at the expense of the flowers on the periphery.

Thanks for looking, Dave. As I said in my original post, there was a breeze blowing so the light was changing every second or so. As they say, "You gotta be quick."
I like #1 better. I would suggest that the two hidden flowers on the left have a few bright petals that could use a little dogging and some additional dogging along the bottom edge. A very nice composition.
