I've used MPB in New York with good experience. Fair prices, no hassle and good customer service. The don't buy 'everything' necessarily, because they're got 'to move the product', you know. https://www.mpb.com/en-us/

MPB was who I used last time. Sent a list to them, KEH and Roberts. MPB had the best overall price, I could have gotten another $21 if I broke the package down and sent the items to the bidder with the highest price. MPB's total price was 20% higher than the next bidder.

Your composition skills are more important in your genre. I realized I don't have the compositions skills for landscape, etc. Have some friends that have it. Wish I did. Have to have these expensive toys to get what I want in a photo.(A9ii) Have the 5DSr(51 megapixels) camera, hoping maybe it would help. Still don't get the landscapes I like. Some people have it , I guess I will stick to wildlife.

Don't give up om landscape, think of it as a reachable challenge.

If you want an enlargement as big as an Irish half-door, the Nikon D800/850 series is the way to go.

I have a dozen film cameras left, from the Olympus OM2n to the Nikon F100, about 40 lens including Bronica and Mamiya lenses and over the years I use them all. I would never otherwise have known that the Mamiya medium format lenses are the sharpest, right up there with Leica, and that the Bronica lenses, esp the old Zenzanon 150 S as well as the standard 80mm, are the best for bokeh.

Have no regrets, if you ever want to have a clear out, ebay is at hand.

I just spent around 6k on a Sony Alpha 7riii and lenses...i haven't been photographing in 7 years...my previous camera was a nikon 7100. My recommendation.... Stay with the same manufacturer. Do not switch brands..you could save thousands on good glass. Sell your old stuff and buy yourself a new lense.

I have grandkids in volleyball and basketball. They range from 16 to 10 yrs of age. So, the gyms are poorly lit. I was using a Nikon D7100 with decent lenses (Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 and Nikon 55mm f1.8) and the photos were ok but not what I was hoping for. I got a Nikon D500. Whoa what a difference! The white balance was much better and the anti flicker option is amazing. So, I was very happy with my purchase is what I'm am trying to say. Plus, the low light capability of the D500 is a big jump in quality as well.

Totally agree and that's one of the reasons I ditched all my Canon equipment for one camera the Sony RX10-IV and I never looked back, phased focus detection instantly 0.03, 24mm to 600mm at f2.4 -4, 24fps at 20mp, Zeiss lens etc.

So happy you chose to invest in your photo-life! Your lesson is well received with me. I'm just getting started again with photography... Love the whole thing!... used to mix my own chemicals for development in the 60's... Fast Forward... Had several 'Series E' for my old Nikon FG-20 from the 70/80's that wouldn't work on my 'new' Nikon D3200... researched and found that the D7000 did a good job with Nikon manual lenses... and AF D, AF-S and anything 'AI + post... so much Good Glass! There are special, romantic, ephemeral nuances that can 'tell the visual story' differently than a brilliantly 'sharp lens' does... Bokeh, Saturation, DOF and Clarity is often 'unmeasurable'... The word photography, I have learned, was from the Greek 'photo' - light and 'graphy' - writing. So we're all 'Writing with Light'! Isn't that a wonderful opportunity? Love it!

Anyway, I'm glad you're into it! $600 or $6K... it's so much fun!

God Bless!

I doubt my current equipment could do better.
This is not to say that the acquisition of new camera and lenses doesn't provide its own joys but from a picture taking perspective I doubt it adds much...
Does anyone else ever get this feeling?

NO, Never! Despite the knowing sneers about "consumer grade" cameras and lenses, they are capable of MARVELOUS work! It's more the photographer, regardless of his/her equipment. But...a new camera or lens is a goodness! After all...how much of our electronic miracle products' capabilities can/do we actually use on a day-to-day basis? PASM, Flash, WB, ISO, AFS, AFC...what's the rest for?
Even the "Pros" use automation, but they don't tell!

Yes, I do get that feeling, and when I do, I remember what King Lear said:

O, reason not the need! Our basest beggars
Are in the poorest thing superfluous.
Allow not nature more than nature needs,
Man’s life’s as cheap as beast’s . . .
