Before you decide that metal prints are too expensive, compare the cost of a conventional print, plus a frame, mat, glass, etc. The cost difference may be very small!

You raise a good point. I’ve quoted people the cost of a metal print with hanger on the back. They balk at the price and ask for a quote for the print matted and framed and price difference was neglidgible.

from CG Pro Prints and it is beautiful! I had ordered a canvas print from them before and was quite satisfied with it. The metal print I just received looks exactly the same in colour and density as what I see on my screen. I think they did a great job! Just want people to know when something goes right!

Once I found a local Walgreens with someone who knows what they're doing, I've been getting great metal prints. They do same day 11x14 in-house, 16x20s are farmed out. With their frequent sales (up to 70% off), they're a great resource.

I had really bad luck with them some time back. I didn't know they did metals. Do you know who they outlab them to?

No, but I'd give my local Walgreens a call. Whoever manages the photo dept should share that info with you. BTW, some Walgreens locations have Canon while others have Epson printers for their metal prints. My color profiles are all set to Canon, and those locations give me the best results.

Interesting. I don't ever see a human being in the photo department of my Walgreen's. Sometimes the check-out clerk comes over if someone has been standing there a long time. I'll look into it.

I've only gotten one print on metal - the Blue Angels 4-ship diamond. It was from Bay Photo and it took 4 tries to get it right if I remember correctly (2 had bumps coming through the front from the mounting hardware and one was dropped on the edge by FedEx). The final result was beautiful, though. On sale, it cost just under $42 for an 11x14 image. May I post?.

I've never used Bay Photo. I'm not sure I'd give anyone that many tries. About posting on my thread - I'd rather you not. My intention in this thread was to say that CG Pro Prints did a good job. I don't particularly want it to morph into an ad for some place else.

They do a great job on photos. I ordered a couple from Bay Labs and they are also very good.

Here's the print I had done on metal in a 12x18 size.

It's beautiful. May I ask how much you paid for the print?
