This is a tiny moth that was on the side of the house under the porch light as I let the dogs out to do their final business before bedtime. I have no idea of what species it is and it is about the size of a pinky fingernail. I brought it in and staged it for a focus stacking session.

I'm always fascinated by a moths eyes for they have a marbling effect to them. I also enjoy seeing their scales which are very feather like.

Phenomenal. Looking at this picture, as a statistician, the probability that random changes, etc, would end up with such a detailed reproducing living being is near infinitely low, even considering billions of years of trying. And this is one of many. I like your picture. The eyes are amazing. Thank You.

Very nice. Very strange getting so close to them like that. Give you a whole new perspective.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. Moths have some of the most uniquely marked eyes. Many have different variations of colors and marbling effects.

This was a very tiny moth so there is quite a bit of magnification used with the choice of lens and extensions.
