Finding Home On The Oregon Trail.

After pulling up stakes in Independence, Missouri, they had traversed 2000 miles of new and rugged terrain. They had endured and overcame all manner of harsh weather and obstacles that nature threw at them.

After five months of continuous travel by horse and wagon, he turned to his wife and proclaimed, honey, this will do. We are home.

I like the B&W version in this story.

Much prefer the B&W image. Nicely done in either case

I'm going to go against the grain and say I prefer the color.

Good B&W, color as well. Prefer the monochrome, but here's a thought, what about Sepia? Don't usually care for it but it might be just the perfect treatment in this case.

Without the story, I would have preferred the color picture. With the story, the B&W just seems more appropriate.

The B&W image tells the story, lends emotion to the picture. Thanks for sharing.

I am voting for the B&W in this case

Great photo and B&W for me. An interesting suggestion has been made about Sepia, and that would be worth looking at.
