I would appreciate recommendation from the Members on a bracket for my d7100. I have an Induro AX113 to which I intend to attach the matching Indigo BHLS1 Ball head. I have not purchased the Ball head yet. If there is a better combination of head to l bracket for the Tripod.... I am open to suggestions.Thank you.

Depends upon what type of photography you do. My prference all around is a Gimbal head. Not a fan for ball head with my 200-500 lens.
Stay healthy with Arizona rates climbing

Thanks Stan. Portraits, Landscape. I am not shooting any images of birds, wildlife, fast moving subjects...wait...I lied:
Grandchildren. Steve Perry's ebooks on shooting birds, wildlife should be a premier for Grandparents photographing Grandkids! My images are so much sharper now! From Chi? Ex-Skokie Boy, SIUC Grad. Looking for lite weight solutions... Best, this.

Kirk makes quality l brackets and they stand behind them if something happens to one.

Check out Amazon/eBay for cheaper brackets.

I used to get RRS brackets for each new camera but for my last camera, I just got a $60 (there are cheaper) L bracket on Amazon and it works perfectly fine on my RRS ball head. I had to go look at my order history and while I ordered it on Amazon, it was Adorama that was the vendor.

It is a hunk of metal that is machined to fit the camera and the ball head so nothing too magical about it.

I have and have had RRS, Kirk, and a couple of cheaper L brackets.

If your shooting requires perfect alignment when switching from vertical to horizontal go with one of the first two mentioned. Mine are a perfect ninety degrees. If that is not important I found the off brands are more than satisfactory and a lot less money.

I have a couple of off brand L brackets and for as often as I use them, which isn't often, they are all I need. Look at Neewer, 3 Legged Thing, Sunway and my favorite Desmond DAL-1 for $20 on Amazon.

If what you're thinking about is Arca Swiss compatible, fine. If not I would look for something that is. I would not like to be locked in to having to buy something that only fits one manufacturer.

When buying an L bracket, get one for your camera. Non-specific brackets may block your battery door.

Also they typically cradle the camera rather than having then sitting atop a flat platform.

I have Kirk L brackets on all of my cameras. My standard for all tripod/monopod attachments is Arca Swiss.
