While many believe Hydrox cookies are an Oreo knock-off, Hydrox actually came first—in 1908, four years before the Oreo.
Maybe the "Hydrox" name let Oreo take the lead. "Hydrox" sounds like an industrial chemical.
"The only way we're gonna get rid of that corrosion is to soak it in hydrox overnight."

I've thought the same thing.
And Duracell had The bunny before Energizer...

I loved Hydrox cookies. Oreo's were just second rate. Better cookie, better filling. I think Hydrox is still in business, but they are almost impossible to find.

Now they offer less Toxic "Oreo" Cookies, they are "Thinner" and much better for those who might be watching their Calorie intake. Eating 10 of these new ones is equivalent to 5 of the regular Oreo's,
Good morning "LWW",
I don't know what your preference is but I always thought Hydrox was much better than Oreo. The material between the two cookie pieces was more of a frosting than a filling. A more "delicate" taste rather than a overly creamy goop. Just my opinion. Thanks for the memory "L".
All the best to you and yours and stay safe during these interesting times. When you feel things are really getting you down - grab a cookie.

I tried Hydrox several times but came away with the notion that it had less sugar (not as sweet). Also, they seem to have only the one type or flavor. Meanwhile Oreo has almost a flavor of the day. Double Stuf, Mega Stuf, thins. Something special for nearly every holiday. They really know how to promote their product.
I think Hydrox cookies were Scotchgarded; took way too long to soften by dunking in milk.
