When you expose for a sunset usually the foreground is darker. It comes only as a natural that if the background is bright the foreground one way or the other will look better to the eye if it is darker. The color is actually in the sky and that is what we tend to preserve when we shoot sunsets. To my eyes the image looks unnatural, practically everything has the same illumination. I do not like the ovoid shape of the sun, that is not natural either.
Try darkening the image, it will work much better.

Good points and advice, thank you.
Could be my eyes. Could be too early in the morning. On my screen, in the download, the tree looks somewhat "muted" with a slight hazy "halo" around it. It almost looks like it was cloned-in from another, less crisp image. Maybe I should go get that coffee.
Nice--sky colors are pleasing, and there’s a nice balance, for me, anyway, between the sun and the tree. The composition is also pleasing. The only thing that might be off, as I see it, is perhaps the shade of the corn is just a bit too green, but that doesn’t bother me at all.
Upon a second look, disregard the green comment.

I’ve been hearing a lot lately about colorful sunrises and sunsets caused by the Saharan dust in the atmosphere. So, I woke up early the other day and headed to a spot I thought might make a good location. After a so-so experience at the first spot I explored a little and found this location. I wish I had known of this site earlier to catch the sun much lower but ”it is what it is” as people say. I’ll be going back to this spot again. I’ve had a difficult time editing this image. Something looks off to me so comments are welcome.

To me, if any this is "off" as you say I think it's the tree on the right side of the picture.
You've gotten a lot of input, but IMO the green looks a little over saturated for that time of day with the sun that low. I think that leads to the HDR comment someone mentioned.
I like this image very much. Someone mentioned that the lighting seemed a bit odd in that the foreground seemed too bright for the lighting situation, but it’s that aspect that appeals to me in this image. It looks more like what one’s eye would see.

I think this is a lovely soft image just as it is!
Very nice. Needs to be a print and on the wall
Works well for me...I love it!

I like the composition and even though its been "processed" a lot;
its been "processed" a lot, in a good way.
It lacks resolution but that adds to the impressionistic effect you have achieved...

Great shot! Luv the colors. Might have tried to position the road near to the center. Thanx for sharing.
