My previous post or how I write...
Well, I start with an idea, whatever it is and let my brain take over. It is easy and always surprising, even to me. I do not plan, I do have anything precise, it just flows out, it is just like being in a transe.
Same as when I pickup a camera in order to shoot something. Every time my vision changes simple objects become aggressive monsters or cuddly pets (no, this just an illustration, not what I see).
Anyway writing is the same as taking pictures it is just as crazy. Once I went to Cobo Hall (Detroit) for the annual car show in the mid 80s and despite the bright lights, the rutilant cars and pretty girls showing of their curves *ahem* I came out with a grand total of three images. One of a hood ornament covered by a mini sweater and a model... Why was I intrigued by her? She was reading playgirl in the middle of the brouhaha. My wife's uncle who was hoping for car pictures (he is a car nut) was sorely disappointed. The third image? I forgot, I just recall there was three images.
My mind always plays trick that way with me. I know where I start but heck if I know where I will land. I remember hitchhiking in from Lyon to go to Paris and ended up in Copenhagen, Denmark... Where...
Anyway, I write, take pictures like I live, free of constraint, happy and careless.
I have one regret: I can only listen to music, I can create some melodies in my head but damned if I can transcribe them on paper or play them as any instrument is too regimented for me. Discipline is not my friend, probably why I do not adapt well in strictly regulated environments like the military...
Ok, time to get some sleep, and no, I do not drink, do not smoke weed or anything like it, life itself is enough to get high.
Thanks for providing a short glimpse into your private life. You seem to be a happy vagabond!
Wish I had met you when I was a teenager grew up very regimented, think I would have enjoyed life a little more adopting some of your characteristics.
Interesting insight; explains some things to me.
