I'm Craig. I began shooting with a SLR camera back in the early 80's when dating my wife (we both had cameras and photo outings were a great dating opportunity). I stopped shooting after a few years - as a young couple starting out, our budget just couldn't support the cost of film and developing.
Around 2008 I bought a DSLR and began shooting again. I photographed everything from flowers and bugs to my sons at their lacrosse games. I bought a motorcycle in 2013 and began taking trips. Unfortunately, I didn't feel comfortable packing my DSLR so my iPhone became my go-to (and the DSLR went on the self).
Fast forward to the fall of 2019 I was reflecting on the things I've enjoyed over the years and realized I needed to get back to using a DSLR. The iPhone no longer held my interest and there wasn't much challenge. I realized I enjoy the feel of a DSLR and being more connected with my gear; to me, it feels more like what photography is all about and I wasn't able to get that from the iPhone.
I now shoot with a Canon EOS RP and I love it. This time around I am committed to developing all areas in my journey as a photographer - from planning a shoot, to deciding what settings to use on location, to working with filters, to post-production, to printing.

Welcome to the Hog for someone that rides a Hog. My daughter lives in Enola and my grandson in Mechanicsburg I just bought a Canon RP as a replacement for my 5D 4. It was time to get something smaller and lighter I just looked at some of your shots on your website and think I recognized a couple of locals.

Welcome from Hellertown PA.
Welcome to the Hog, Craig. A fellow Pennsylvanian here, who also bought a motorcycle (H-D Road Glide Ultra) in 2013 and love taking photographs. Great photos on your website. Look forward to seeing some of your photos posted in the future. This is a great place to socialize, learn, teach and have a good time.
Welcome back to the fun and to the UHH!
Welcome to the forum Craig. We currently live in Reading, PA but my wife is from across the river in Enhaut above Steelton.
If you ever feel you want to get more out of that iPhone, I belong to a group on Facebook called the Tiny Shutter iPhone Photography Forum. They also host a biweekly Podcast called the Tiny Shutter Podcast. They pushed Smartphone Imagery to the Max using the many Apps, accessory lenses, and especially Raw image data.
There’s also 2 smartphone Astrophotography Facebook Forums for literally out of this world images.
I look forward to checking out Your Website. We are the same age and followed similar paths.
