Did training with DOD, sent to Japan...aThey pronounce it Nihkon, or nehkon ...depending where in Japan you are. as explained to me when I queried, We accept people will mispronounce words, we offer the correct way, if they choose to continue in mispronunciation we do not interfere.

As I’m from Sweden we pronounce the I as in “hit”, I still do. But I’ve heard Swedes pronouncing the I as in knee too.

The correct pronunciation of the brand name is Kneekon.
If you used the name Nighkon in Japan, as it is used in the US, most Japanese would not know what you were referring to.
Of course, it is pronounced differently in other parts of the world, as are many Japanese names. It is a common problem with the Japanese language used by westerners. It is why Matsushita changed their name in western markets to Panasonic.
One of the smartest ideas of Akio Morita, the founder of SONY, was to choose a name that was NOT a Japanese name - it was a made up name - and would be pronounced exactly the same way in any country of the world.

I have a Sony camera, but have heard the name pronounced as..Soe-nee....Soh-(as in hop)nee...Sun-ee...(as in the weather). Not every country pronounces Sony in the same way.

Best Fuji is the little X-AI with regular sensor, pity they don't do a good body with that fab sensor - but I bought the metal grip for it and it's the camera I reach for today despite having a Nikon D800 and Canon 1DS Mark 111 plus L lenses.
