Early today a UHH member was selling a camera, I told this person I would take the camera. Question about paying for the camera, He said for me to go to his e-mail address to pay for the camera. I did that found none. I told him to sell the camera to someone else. Could some one example to me what is paid by Pay Pal. via one e-mail address. Or what every one call it.

From within your Paypal account you can send money to an email address. Paypal will transfer the money to the recipients PayPal account based on the email address. It's a legitimate transaction. However, based on your post I suspect you may not have a PayPal account.

Thank you. Yes I don't have a PayPal's account and I don't want one.

You don't need a PayPal account to pay someone who does. Go to PayPal and there are options to send money using your credit card. You just need the email of the account holder you wish to pay.

Just make sure that you buy from a reputable person. My wife got scammed and PayPal did not do anything about it. She bought a product, never received it. They listened to her complaint and denied it. Guess the old saying "buyer beware" has a lot of truth in it.

Yes, PP doesn't seem to care about scams. They will accept anything as proof of delivery.

They are very convenient and much safer than most other alternatives when paying for something online. I get the feeling though that you don't buy very much online anyway.

PayPal may be safer, but they are definitely more difficult, IMHO, when it comes to resolving disputes. I placed an order on Apr 12th to a US merchant that was selling a product manufactured in China. I paid with PayPal who immediately charged my default payment method, a credit card. When I didn't receive the merchandise within the worse case advertised time, I emailed the merchant and got a non-answer, something like, "be patient." I waited another couple weeks, so we're up to five weeks at that point, same response. So, I disputed the charge with PayPal, who set up lines of communication via PayPal's website between myself and the merchant. In cases like this, PayPal gives you and the vendor a period of time to work out the issues. In the absence of anything, PayPal automatically closes out the dispute in favor of the seller after the time expires, unless you escalate to the next level. In this case, that was May 31st, so having gotten no where, I escalated. The entire month of June was a total waste of time as I exchanged numerous messages with PayPal (no phone support due to the COVID-19 excuse). During that time, the tracking status provided by the merchant never changed... the product supposedly stalled in customs and whatever other dark hole was convenient. All the time, when I would check with PayPal's dispute status page, the estimated resolution date would slide out further to the right. I finally went to my CC company and opened a dispute with them and they gave me a courtesy reversal. Last time I checked with PayPal, estimated resolution is now July 5th. So.... all yee who think PayPal is in your corner (think Al Martino), think again. Read their dispute terms and conditions, most resolve in favor of the seller. I used to be a big user, now, not so much. My worse fear is that a damaged package shows up......
