These guys are very common near my house on North Padre Island.
The last shot is of one preening on my neighbor's boat after a heavy rainstorm.
Enjoy.

Some nice shots. Amazing how this species has spread across the South and West.

Very good captures, Bubba.
Thanks for all your comments.

Nice photos. We have a pair cavorting in our scrub oaks on the Mosquito Lagoon today. When you capture them in the right light they look to have angel wings. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for looking. That landing "angel wing" shot with their feet in prayer position is a hard one to capture. Just have to keep trying.

They are aggressive toward mourning doves and are chasing them out of our area
These are excellent, Bubba. The BIF's and I especially like the last one.
These are excellent shots!

jliane,
I am not advocating for this invasive species. As a conservationist, I do not approve of their takeover of other indigenous species. However, they do provide me with continuous photo ops. And as much as I would like to see them go away, I am afraid they are here to stay.
Other highly invasive species include the European Starling, the English House Sparrow and the Cattle Egret. Yet we see photos of these frequently. But by not posting photos of these will not make them go away.
I just wanted you to know my position.
