Rather recently I picked up a second camera (Sony RX10 MIV). I had to walk the dog late last night and the moon gave me the idea to try out the range of the lens. I haven't had much success with moon shots but I wasn't trying to concentrate on the image quality so I didn't bother to pull out the tripod. I recalled a recent topic on this site about trying something like a 'sunny 16' rule for the moon. So I opted for setting it on Manual at f/11, 1/250, 600mm and auto ISO (ended up 6400). Got more than I expected...thanks to the value of UHH.

Thanks, pixelStan77. Tried to delete to add download, but I'm a bit slow this AM.
It’s a brilliant photograph. And yet another account of the value of UHH!
Much appreciated, PaulBrit. Thanks for looking in.

Very kind of you, fergmark. I never expected that result handheld.
Great detail, you have very steady hands.

Thank you, Bultaco. In this case, I'll humbly give the shutter speed the credit for overriding my limits of control.
Glad you liked it, Bayouguy.
