Both are very nice though I prefer the first one. It has gorgeous symmetry and a tacit sense of motion as well, as if the bird is coming straight toward you.

The first picture is more graceful and has a much better sunlit shape, but obviously the body is hard to discern in the sunlight. Since the overall presentation of light and dark is attractive, I would hand tint in the necessary body shapes to define the bird without darkening the real highlights. It would not take much to define the bird in picture one.
I am sure this can be done via the program, I just find it easier to draw in simple improvements.
