Suscribe. $97.00 per year! That's 26 cents per day! I would wager everyone on this forum wastes more than 26 cents a day on things far less valuable.

Sales of the paper edition were so low that it was losing money. I subscribed long ago when it was paper only, then went to paper + e-mag and a few years ago got the notice they were going e-mag only - I believe they do sell some special editions and the like in paper on rare occasions.

Opps, wrong mag, I went to e-mag because my wife was complaining about all my old editions in the house. It was a different mag that went E only on me.

Not to worry, Robert. Not that you are, of course.

Back to Outdoor Photography for a second, I just want them to return to paper and quit trying to explain going to digital only on COVID-19.

Let me guess, printing a photography magazine isn't an essential job so the printing plant is closed or semi closed.

But in states where it is legal pot shops are essential and are open, and all liquor stores also. Let them self medicate and stay quietly at home.

Truth be told, one of the first retail victims of COVID-19 in neighboring Boulder, CO was, alas, a pot shop.

Unfortunately National Geographic has drunk the koolade on the whole global warming hoax.

Sadly, I have watched this for the last decade. Watching their programs on tv, I enjoy the beautiful videography, and have to tune out the politically correct line they peddle. The cyclic nature of global climate is witnessed by the fact that in the thirteenth or fourteenth century, a Chinese admiral transnavigated the Northwest Passage and journeyed from the Pacific to Atlantic Oceans. At that time, grain crops like wheat and barley were grown in Lapland. Then came the Little Ice Age and a long period of cooling that lasted for about three-to-four hundred years. As late as the late 1700s there what were described as "summer with no summer". Crop failures were frequent and some have posited that the last vestiges of this Little Ice Age were responsible for the Irish potato blight and the consequent starvation and immigration from Ireland and some parts of Scotland. But these contemporarily recorded facts are inconvenient for the current narrative. You are right on!

If you have a 'good' Barnes and Noble in your area check out the mag section. They often have a wide assortment catering to all tastes (traveling across country, I found them quite variable in this), including European and large format mags. Check them out, and subscribe if you like. Other bookstores might work, but so far, I haven't found others as complete. I often sit in the Starbucks to peruse them, among others.

B&N's online site will have all magazines that are available through them and you can buy or subscribe from the site.

It about importance. Photography is not. The others generate income/taxes.

This thread is not appropriate on this site. This is a Photography site.
That being said, this and similar posts are examples of “a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.” Much of the data in this post is correct, but so incomplete as to be extremely misleading. The global warming we are experiencing now has been incontrovertibly shown to be caused by human-caused changes in the high altitude gaseous shields, and is occurring at a far more rapid rate than most other climatic changes. Exceptions exist for things like the eruption of Krakatoa, impact of massive meteors, and other factors outside of human control.

‘Nuff said. Let’s stick to photography related stuff.

National Geographic has pictures of wildlife but not articles on photographing wildlife or am I missing something? The magazine I’m asking about is dedicated to wildlife photography not just photographs. So it discusses post processing, equipment, techniques, the whole gamut. I was wondering if it did that in a quality manner. Is the content any good? Are the articles in depth or perfunctory? Do they have recognizable authors? They want $100 a year. That’s a lot, especially if it’s online only and more so if it’s junk

National Geographic does put out books on "how to". I would imagine that the ones now are on digital photography and camera use. It can probably be bought in both paper and electronic.

They are done in co-op with "The Great Courses" -DVD & companion books and they also publish stand alone books. I have several of them including one of the Great Courses DVD Book "Master's of Photography" in duplicate - one still sealed - I put in bids on two on Ebay - low ball bids, and won both when I thought I would be lucky to get even one my bids were so low. Anyone want one - make me an offer, Media Mail via USPS is pretty cheap but mostly reliable and not too slow.

They give this one away as a teaser - pdf download. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/content/dam/ngdotcom/rights-exempt/NatGeo_GuideToPhotography.pdf
