This is a 55+ senior center with 72 buildings, and 3,800 residents, but there are no cameras, except at the office building, so there is no way to see any action by the perp.

Most healthcare facilities have pretty extensive video surveillance systems both inside and outside the facilities. If you know the the young woman have her request the video recordings of that parking lot for the night it occurred. Have the the police review them if this hasn't already been done. They should come up with the identities of the persons involved.

Saturday morning, I woke up and looked out the window to see a young nurse walking around her car, crying and talking on her cell phone. I went out to see what was wrong, camera in hand. Her new car had been totally trashed, all tires punctures, windows broken out, every body panel badly scratched. There was even blood on the back where the perpatrator had cut himself while breaking out that window. It was her 1st night on the job, so no one knew whe was there. We have no idea who it was or why it happened.

That is a shame. I work in a body shop and see things like this way to often. Some people are nothing but assholes

Apparently there is someone out there who does not like her. The typical vandal does not spend that much time and effort on a single vehicle.

Agree, that was personnel.

Being that the car has a Colorado plate, one shouldn't rule out a hungry bear looking for food inside the car!

A bear wouldn't leave horizontal scratches on the door. There might be scratches but they would be running vertically. This is from a person walking along the length of the car. The bear wouldn't flatten the tires.

As an FYI, I think it is careless to include the license plate number. These can be tracked. At least blur the numbers, but not the blood.

Fair point.

This type of damage seems personal vs. a random act. None the less this is so screwed up. What’s wrong with people?

Wow, any breakups with anyone? That's just nasty!

I hope she or you contacted the police, if for no other reason, that you will need a police report for the insurance.

So sorry for her. Nurses are so needed at this time more than ever. Some people are so stupid to do this kind of mindless vandalism..

That's a good suggestion and I wonder if there is a private company that can offer the service, and a quick Google search suggests that it is relatively easy.

The culprit should not be allowed to get away with this mindless vandalism.

Unless you know the perp and his/her MO, you have no idea that the vandalism is
mindless.

Maybe (just to run a possibility up the flag pole) the nurse is a psychopath.

While she's driving down a multi lane road she sees a smiling motorcyclist, obviously
enjoying his ride, she feels, by comparison, unfree and constrained in her very ordinary Mazda...
She makes eye contact with, what is in her opinion a low life scum bag on a motorcycle
that has no right to be enjoying himself... out of spite she suddenly swerves her car
at the motorcyclist who in fear of his life and limb also swerves... and brakes to avoid what could
very well be a collision is now behind the nurses Mazda.

The motorcyclist, who well noticed that eye contact had been made,
and that the action of the Mazda driver was intentional decides to drop
back and covertly follow the Mazda... to later vandalize the Mazda as an
act of thoughtful retribution... A revenge fueled rampage of vandalism
but certainly not "mindless" as you would have it. And better destroying
the car than perpetrating violence on her body.

You, Paul Brit have no way of knowing that a scenario similar to the one I
have described took place or not.

It actions like yours, labeling something motivated by matters you can not
know, convict innocent men and/or send the guilty free to commit
their hideous acts multiple times.

Shut your ignorant mouth and keep your stupid fat fingers off the keyboard idiot.

I don't know what your definition of typical is but in my experience as a leo for 33 years I saw the same type of vandalism several times over the years with no apparent connection to the victim. It may turn out you are right. Who knows? Whoever did it let's hope they are caught.

I tend to agree with you. I investigated quite a few acts of similar vandalism whereby a group of kids walked down a residential street carrying knives or other sharp instruments and randomly punctured tires and scratched vehicles. There was absolutely no knowledge of who owned the vehicles nor any relationship to the victims from the thugs who did the malicious mischief. It was simply a fun thing for these A. H. kids to do. Only once did I catch one kid in the act while 5 others got away. He and his friends attacked vehicles in a nursing home parking lot. Every one of the victims was elderly. That was a sad report to have to write but catching one of these idiot kids and placing him in juvenile hall made for a somewhat better ending.
