Saturday morning, I woke up and looked out the window to see a young nurse walking around her car, crying and talking on her cell phone. I went out to see what was wrong, camera in hand. Her new car had been totally trashed, all tires punctures, windows broken out, every body panel badly scratched. There was even blood on the back where the perpatrator had cut himself while breaking out that window. It was her 1st night on the job, so no one knew whe was there. We have no idea who it was or why it happened.

Based upon the evidence, the police, if they are not de-funded, already have a suspect identified.
Cheers!

I wonder if they could get DNA from the blood that was left on the back. This must have been someone she knows or has had contact with. Security cameras are all over the place now. Maybe there was a local business or apartment complex with security cameras that recorded it.
That's a good suggestion and I wonder if there is a private company that can offer the service, and a quick Google search suggests that it is relatively easy.
The culprit should not be allowed to get away with this mindless vandalism.
Its hard to image who did the damage or why this was done. I hope that the car had good insurance. Even though it doesn’t compensate all the time and energy lost, at least your friend is healthy enough to go to work. She should be applauded for her work.
Happy Shooting!
At the last high school I taught at this same kind of thing was done to faculty/staff cars. It became a "thing" with some of the local gang members to do this to any car/truck parked on or near the campus. Some got the full treatment if they were parked sort of out of sight while others, like my van, got keyed down the side without stopping as they went by. Then they got inside the buildings and defaced all the wall art done by students. One of our gang members recognized the "placa"(signature) left on a painting that he had helped paint. It was his little brother who was in a gang at a nearby Jr High. The little brother talked when big brother put pressured him. A large group of art students, JrROTC, Team Members and Gang Members went over to the JrHigh at lunch with baseball bats etc and cornered the gang in their hangout area and proceeded to have a heart to heart talk. After which a bunch of the Jr High gang members turned themselves over to the campus police and sheriffs, confessed etc. It was better than the alternative they were given.
Looks personal to me. What a cowardly act.
If there is blood, DNA for can be gotten for identification.
Maybe you should not have shown her car tag! Even a partial could be traced to find her.

There are just some folks who just don't deserve to breath air.
With everything going on right now, who knows. There is nothing but senseless violence. I fear for the nation and this vandalized car is an illustration.
A lot of people asked her about who knew she was there, and if she had any enemies, but she said it was her 1st night on the job, and no one knew she was there. As a nurse, she took swabs of the blood and gave them to the police when they came, to see if they could get anything from the DNA. She just got the car the dasy before.
Horrible, coward. Post again if they catch the sob.
