Lens Choice...a dilemna

Since the new Nikkor Z 70-200 f/2.8S has been delayed, I've been thinking of alternatives. In addition to my Z-6, I'm shooting with a pair of D7100s and have the FTZ adapter. Should I grab a 70-200 2.8E FL ED VR or 70-200G ED VRII?
Or should I wait? I don't like changing lenses in the field.

I'd wait, unless money was no object. Unclear whether "grab" means buy or really grab from your kit?

...a buddy of mine has that 18-300 Nikon and swears by it, maybe that would be a nice alternative, especially on the Z6 FF...then, once you get your wonderful new Z glass, that alternative would still provide some juice...not to mention the crop factor on your 7100's. <shrug>

I would wait. It would be best to use Z series lenses on your Z6 instead of using the FTZ adapter with F mount lenses.

The 18-300 is a DX lens, and the Z-6 automatically goes into DX mode with a reduced megapixel count when it's attached. In my opinion, not a good fit for the Z-6. I have the 18-140 DX, along with a pair of 70-300 AF-S ED VRs but am looking to upgrade to faster, sharper glass of the 70-200 series.

...sorry I had that wrong; it's the 26-300 my friend extols. Yah, I wouldn't use a DX lens on any of my FF cameras, either.
