it used to be 24 mb! yes, it's one of the silliest requirements of any of the MS agencies - and they still ban certain cameras as non-professional

you can use apps like Topaz gigspixel AI to upsize your images - i've used it for more than a year now and get results similar to the ones in their ads. i use it for low light days and interiors

Looks like I'll have to get Topaz, or just stick w/Getty, Shutterstock & Dreamstime.

Yep. Most of those making money there are writing and producing UTubes for the novices.

It's sort of a weird pyramid scheme. No landscape photographer actually makes money with their landscape photography. They make all their money with youtube videos and workshops teaching other novice photogs how to take pictures that they can never do anything with.

HI All
My grand daughter is an amateur photographer, living in Alaska. She has taken some pretty nice images and I wanted to get some information on how she might go about marketing her images for say "Stock photographs" or any other venue. Any information is appreciated. I've enclosed one of her shots taken this past winter.

Clark,

Alaska sure has plenty of good scenery. I would advise your grand-daughter to look for scenes that are unique; that stock agencies wouldn't already have hundreds of versions of the subject. From what I understand, photographers don't make much money on stock unless they are "big names." ETSY.COM is a popular site where a lot of artists and craftspeople sell their products. I suggest she take a look at it.

i've found etsy to be even worse than stock- i get a steady (tho diminishing) sales for stock, but very few sales on etsy - and it takes a lot longer to set up each product.

another possibility is zazzle, tho again few sales, huge competition and need to set up individual items for each image

ebay doesnt allow digital sales, but you can offer a dvd collection
