I had an earlier post about iPad Pro and using it for viewing, post-processing with Lightroom.
Well, I got it and it's a major improvement over my ~10 years old iPad.
I'm stuck on how to get an app. I tried getting Ligthroom for iPad but couldn't go beyond the "confirm with double click" message. I double clicked everywhere I could think of, but so far, no luck. Double clicks on the message button or the blinking left upper corner message didn't do it.
I tried youtube videos w/o success. I'll go to Apple's support if needed unless some UHHoger knows the trick.
Thanks in advance,
Sam
When you double click, are you double clicking the actual power button? That’s what they want you to do.
EJones is right. Double click the button shown in the diagram. It is on the edge of the iPad.

I’m confused. You You get Apps from the App Store. If you already have them on your other iPad then you don’t buy them again you just download them from the App Store to the new iPad.

Have you tried Apple support?

The App Store refers to the download as buying, even though it’s no charge. It’s a weird App Store terminology thing. When you download a previously purchased app, it will show the cloud with a down arrow. That’s how you know that you’ve already paid for it and the download will be free.

Yes.... it’s always been that way.
Apple keeps track of all your purchases for you. The cloud symbol denotes it is not on the device but it is available for you.
If you delete an app from A device it will appear with the cloud ☁️ Symbol under your apps in your Apple account.
Thanks everybody for your help. You're right - clicking on the actual, physical power button does it. I did go to Apple Support and that's when the proverbial bulb lit up in my head!
The app I was trying to get is a new one for me - Lightroom CC, the cloud version, so it wasn't on my previous pad.
On a different note, I'm amazed by the iPad Pro. The images are incredible, it's very fast so it should last me for a long time.

Very good to hear you have resolved the problem.
I like my iPad Pro it is a great piece of hardware but I feel like it is hobbled by iOS. I am much more productive using MacOS, and there are things I can do easily on MacOS that I simply cannot do on iOS. So for that reason I don’t see another iPad in my future.
