Odd day yesterday, I was just about as efficient as a cat in a hurry on a polished floor. Dashed out and got a few photos, then a grocery run, lunch and Flower photos for my wife. Chores, then this third set while I was waiting for the mechanic. Last, the birds I posted earlier. These are more of the usual insects. I don't often post "almosts" but this is the first time I've managed to capture a hummingbird moth in flight head on! D810 AF Micro Nikkor 105 2.8D

Thank you, and Nikon focus tracking! Mostly I have a good idea what I'll get when I snap the shutter. I'll credit this to a wild idea and technology making it work.

The D810 and the 105 is working .., I’m with the rest ..the head on was a rare capture ..,as always .., download version is a must ...

Thanks, a great camera / lens combo maybe "more than the sum of its parts".
"Must", well, I have mixed feelings about downloads - expressed previously. I'll plagiarize Elizabeth I , "The word Must is not to be used to Princes", or free men. (the last my addition!)
Came very close to the head on shot again in just a couple of tries this morning, a bit more practice and tweaking the settings. We'll see.
