And bless your heart too, "Jane". We southerners LOVE to be kind. See! You did learn the definition of sarcasm. Once again, glad I could be of help.

Comments like that from a little S%^t like you is one reason why the country is the way it is right now.

No this is exactly why the world is the way it is today. No one is allowed to have a different opinion or speak their mind. Everyone needs to be politically correct until of course it no longer fits their adgenda. While I agree his comment was rude, I also feel comments should be kept to the image itself not the model as this is a photography site not 7th grade. However I see countless negative comments about women with Tattoos and piercings. Then of course there is the dirty old man who comments on just about every post “nice tits”. Then there is the debate of shaved vs not shaved. How are any of those comments any different? Seriously face it, this is not really a photography section. For some of you it is cheap porn. Very rarely does anyone ever comment about the composition or exposure of the image. Honestly, many of the shots are nothing more than snapshots certainly not art. Starving artist posts and the majority of comments are negative but the truth is she is one of the few posters that is actually attempting art. The real sad truth is many of the images posted in this section are not very good photography just snapshots of naked women.
To the OP I am sorry someone made a negative comment about your wife. Negative comments should not be made about any model but it is never easy to deal with when it is your own wife But the truth is everyone is entittled to their own opinion. Either we accept all opinions or we except none.

To the rest of the community don’t be Hippocrates show the exact same outrage next time someone criticizes a model for tattoos or piercings. Step up next time the dirty old pervert comments “nice tits” that is equally disrespectful to the model.

The guy had an opinion, like it or not he is getting the last laugh because he got under all of your skin. Do any of you really think that a guy that makes that comment really gives a flying F what any of you say? He is most likely getting off on all of your responses and you all fell for it. Can we please get back to making this section about the art of nude photography?

Your wife is a beautiful lady. I admire your photography but more so I admire you model! She is very expressive and possesses a beautiful smile as well as other very attractive attributes. You are fortunate to have such a willing and attractive model at your disposal.

I really presented these two images for laughs because of the vehicle. I must also admit that I take my fair share of "snapshots" as many have been more than willing to point out. I do have my serious side as well and I appreciate constructive criticism.

Generally speaking, I think we should treat the non-body-scape, artsy images in this section of the forum as if they were "for hire" boudoir images. I have had both the pleasure and curse of taking nude images of men and women other than my wife for fun, experience, and profit. I get this work not because I'm the greatest photographer, but because I have a reputation for being thoughtful, discreet, and non-judgmental.

Any person can go sit for any portrait photographer in the country and have their photo taken. If that photographer were to present that work on UHH, I don't think anyone would comment negatively on a less than attractive subject. For many subscribers of this section of UHH, when the clothes come off, the perceived beauty of the model is immediately up for critique. Obviously they have never been hired to photograph a middle-aged woman carrying more than a few extra pounds and wrinkles sporting sheer lingerie.

Whether you pick the model or the model picks you, the person in front of your lens is a given. If they're paying it's your job to take photos that please and flatter them to the best of your ability. If you're paying, it's your job to satisfy yourself while honoring any concerns and limits of the model.

This logic extends to most photography. Nobody tells the photographer taking senior portraits he should have skipped or "phoned-in" the images of the heavy kids. (They're paying) Nobody tells the guy showing off photos of the Matterhorn that he should have photographed K2. (He's paying)

Is it acceptable to give advice to a photographer to make a model's images more appealing? Certainly. It's not acceptable to insult the model's appearance, be it issues with weight, features, tattoos, age, etc. We should not put up with a comment or two from a troll even if we know they're just trying to incite some discussion and outrage. There have been more than a few hypercritical individuals on this forum and to a man, the few photographs they've posted in other sections have been less than stellar.

I see your point on this. The lights are distracting. In cropping/framing, I like squares and traditional rectangle aspect ratios like 4:3 and 5:4. The armoured vehicle in this photo is important to the image. Cropping close to its roof while keeping its length would have made for a really non-standard image size.

As you can see, most of the comments are favorable about the model--even though that should not be the focus of this forum.
